Earl Nightingale
When he was just seventeen years old Earl
Nightingale enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was one of only twelve surviving marines from the USS Arizona at
Pearl Harbour.
Following his service in the
Marine Corps Nightingale became involved in the radio industry leading him into motivational speaking. Sometime
during 1949 he had one of those light bulb moments whilst reading Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow
Rich” which inspired him throughout the rest of his life.
“The Strangest
Secret”, produced as a long-playing vinyl record earned him a Gold
Record award and sold over one million copies. He followed this in 1960 with an abbreviated version of
“Think and Grow Rich: The Essence Of The Immortal Book”. Later that year Earl
Nightingale together with Lloyd Conant founded the Nightingale-Conant Corporation, the benchmark for all
self-improvement companies throughout the world.
