E.James Rohn (Jim Rohn)
Emmanuel James Rohn (Jim Rohn) was a farm boy from Idaho who, in the best traditions of American rags to
riches stories pulled himself up by his bootstraps and become one of the most famous of motivational speakers in
the personal development field.
He had a personal Road to Damascus moment when, as a clerk at Sears, he heard a motivational speech by
entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff, who challenged him to become a millionaire within five years. Jim joined
AbundaVita, a nutritional supplement company, and began his rags to riches, culminating in him becoming a
millionaire at 31.
Starting with the local rotary club James Rohn developed his "Idaho Farm Boy Makes It To Beverly Hills" story
and eventually presented seminars all over the United States and, subsequently, the English-speaking world.
Many modern motivational speakers, including Mark Victor Hansen, Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup book series), Brian
Tracy and T. Harv Eker, credit James Rohn as being their personal inspiration.
